My Little Boys

So a while ago I added a new camera app on my phone called Camera 360 Lite. Can I just say I love it!! Turns plain pictures into spiced up ones just that easy. I had the boys out yesterday afternoon because it was just beautiful here in SC. My husband had a load of hay to deliver so we went down to the barn to visit and play for a bit. I didn't take my big camera, so I used my phone. Here's some of the pictures that I got using this application.
Mom, we came to play. I'm not smiling!
Not looking!
What is this?
Okay, you want a picture...
Finally a cheesy smile...
Not sure what happened to this picture. The only one that Ethan would smile on!
Still not looking...
He loved the big red truck...

Let's go home boys!

I just LOVE this one as they run up the dirt drive.

My plans, lets see if they happen.

I've been thinking, yes I do that sometimes, about things I want to get done around the house. Things that we have talked about ever since moving in 5 years ago. Some blinds for the bay window, storm door for the front, curtains, pictures framed and hung, garden beds and some flowers. That looks like a long list doesn't it? Well its a bunch of small things, but they need to be done.

We love our bay window in the kitchen but the morning sun is just too much and you can't sit at the table without sweating lol. Plus its faded out my painted walls too. So I'm looking for something along the lines of this....

Because we live in a rural area and have no neighbors we have a very open house. Blinds only in bedrooms and baths. My husband loves it that way. He spends a lot of time sitting in the breakfast area looking out the window watching for wildlife or just the beautiful crops that he has planted.

Our front door is wood with a beautiful glass in the middle with satellite pieces on the side. I would love to be able to open that door and get some light in the front of the house. So I was thinking about a storm door with a full glass. Like this..

Now, I will admit, I am not a decorator nor am I creative. I love to look at other homes and get ideas or have someone give me ideas. So never ask me for my decorating opinion. As I said before we have windows that are open, no blinds or curtains. I would love to have something! My husband says leave them be, but it just looks so PLAIN! So I'm on a hunt for some kind of curtain or drape. Here's what I've found so far. If you have any ideas of a contemporary style please let me know.

We've always planted a garden. Some years it produced enough for us to share. Last year we never got around to it. I've asked for a couple of veggie beds to maybe make it easier and keep the wildlife out. This is what I've been looking at. Nelson could build them but why wait right?

So that's it for the most part. Where oh where should I start first?

Just can't seem to get in the blogging mood!

So, how do you do it? I read blogs, sometimes everyday. Blogs that are updated daily and sometimes more than once a day. How do they do it? I think about my blog and what I'd like to post here and that's it. Taking the time to actually come here and put something in is my problem. There's things in my life that I'm just not gonna put here, because I don't like sharing every little detail of my life with the internet public arena. There's things that I'd love to put here, but can't for other personal reasons. Then there's the things that I will always put here. My boys, my love for my family, and an occasional new recipe that my family loved.

I had new 2011 goals for my blog that have fallen by the wayside already. 15 days into the New Year and I've failed on my a top goal. So, I'm gonna try to get with the program and at least post here weekly. If I get here more than that then great! I'm a new SAHM, still trying to get in a routine, if there is such a thing. My boys are very demanding of my attention as is the household chores and just being a Mom.

So, I hope you will read my upcoming blog posts and maybe get something out of them. For me, its a form of therapy :)

Have a good one! Until next time,

~Lynn~

Christmas and a Birthday!

We had our Lollis family Christmas party yesterday at the nursing center where Nanny lives. Everyone was there and it was great to have the family together again and to have another Christmas with Nanny. The kids were all happy and loved being able to play a little inside and have some fun. As usually the kids were "hurry up and eat so we can open presents!" I do believe Nealon would tell you the best gift he got was a Slinky! He has really enjoyed that.

We also had a little birthday celebration for Weston since it was his birthday. Everyone sang Happy Birthday and he enjoyed blowing out the candle on his cake. He's growing up so fast.

I tried to get as many pictures as I could, but you never get enough. After getting home and reviewing my pics I forgot to get a 4th generation picture with my dad and Nanny. I have one when Ethan was little, but not with Weston. Soon!

A New Year...In pictures.

A goal for this year is to do the 365 picture project. If you haven't ever heard of this it's where you take a picture, any picture, everyday for a year. I've got friends who have done this and have really enjoyed it and I hope to as well.
Tomorrow, January 2, will be Weston's 2nd birthday! Holy moly...2!!!! Sigh..I don't have a baby anymore. Just today I was thinking back to the night before I went into the hospital to be induced. He is my 3rd baby, my nerves were crazy and I didn't sleep at all that night. Just laying there in bed enjoying his movements, rib kicks and bladder punches. I knew he would be our last, so I just enjoyed my last night being pregnant, as miserable as I was!

He brings such joy to our lives. His smile, his laugh, his sweet kisses and tight hugs, his sweet voice saying "I wuv you mommy", or hearing him call from his crib "come get me mommy!" He's as big as his big brother when he wrestles on the floor and a cuddle bug who loves to rock rock in the lazy boy. Oh please Father time, slow down. My babies are growing up and I'm not really ready yet!

Tomorrow at our Lollis Family Christmas party (rescheduled due to snow), we will sing happy birthday and let him blow out his candle. Cake is ready, momma, not so much :(.

Happy 2nd Birthday Weston Zane!

Lots of snowballs were thrown....

And we even built a snowman. (Funny I know!)

So some new goals and ideas are coming around at the New Year. Personal and blog, so check back!!

Happy Birthday Papa

December 2, 2010

Happy Birthday Papa!

I miss you so much! There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about you for different reasons. Christmas will be here soon and you always enjoyed this time with your family. Just the other day we were talking about when we were kids. You and Nanny would come see what Santa brought us and then we would all go to the Waffle House for breakfast. I love that!! The kids now want to go to the Waffle House for breakfast. It might just be our new tradition.

You always loved Christmas. Our large family crammed into your little house, the fireplace roaring, kids laughing, a huge lunch and finally gift time! Us grands couldn't wait to open our gifts. So many memories were made there and I will cherish them forever.

You were like a gentle giant but when you spoke we listened. Never heard you say a harsh word towards anyone. Oh but discipline was given when needed. (I know this, hard lesson learned.)
You loved your grand kids and great grands. I'm so grateful that I lived within walking distance of you and Nanny. Memories of sleepovers on the pull out couch watching Dallas, eating chocolate ice cream and drinking Pepsi then early wake ups when we would jump in the bed with you and nanny. I know you said I would kick the covers off every time :)

The summers we would work in the garden cleaning corn, pulling peanuts, green beans and tomatoes. You took such pride in your garden and oh the meals that were cooked. Always accompanied by homemade biscuits or cornbread! You loved your bread.

I hope you knew how much I loved you Papa and how much I miss you! Thank you for the many precious memories that I have. I think of them often and share them with the boys so that they will have a piece of you too. They know you in pictures and love to look at them. Oh how I wish they could have known you. Nealon was just a baby when you died. They love to visit with Nanny and she loves on them as much as they will let her.

Happy Birthday Papa!! I'll have a Pepsi and a bowl of chocolate ice cream just for you. You are missed greatly and I can't wait to see you again. Nanny sends her love.

I LOVE YOU!
Your little girl,

Lynn
